Episode Transcription

Female: You just can’t stop thinking about it. You’ve told everyone about this story. You’ve gone over it at brunch with your friends. The cashier at the grocery store knows all the key characters, thanks to you. And you’re stopping colleagues at work just to get their opinions. You can’t believe that what you watched was actually true. How had you never heard about it before? And that crazy moment, right at the end—you’ve been overanalyzing it for days. And you just need more.

Female: That’s where we come in. Welcome to You Can’t Make This Up, a new podcast from Netflix. It’s kind of like a book club, but instead of reading books, you’re watching Netflix original series and films that are all, surprisingly, true. And, instead of having to bring snacks to someone’s house and pretend like you finished the book, you get to turn on this podcast anytime you want and tune into exclusive interviews with the people who made these series and films.

Each episode takes a look behind the scenes at a Netflix original by featuring a conversation between different podcasters, journalists, comedians, and the people who made it. They’ll give us a peek inside their process, explore stories they left out, answer your questions, and so much more.

So here’s what you can expect. We’ll talk about Wild Wild Country, a six-part series about a cult that took over a small Oregon town in 1981, and Evil Genius, the story of a pizza delivery guy, who goes to drop off a pizza and, instead, gets a bomb strapped to his neck and sent on a scavenger hunt. We’ll head into the kitchen of a mouth-watering chef’s table. And we’ll revisit old favorites and get into a lot of other films and series that I can’t even tell you about yet.

You Can’t Make This Up is coming to a podcast platform near you this week. Until then, happy streaming.
